(i went on this rant on discord so forgive the weird formatting ;;)

so like . you ever notice how neither heart nor mind are emotionally intelligent like.. at all. and this might sound weird but i'm telling you as much as they like to LIE TO THEMSELVES AND EACH OTHER, they're both dumb as rocks in this regard (and many others but like,,,,,,,,,,,,not the point ^_^)
..and i realize this might sound a little weird considering we're also talking about heart here but listenjust . just listen hear me out hear me out i know these fuckers like the back of my hand by this point i can read them like a whole library

emotional intelligence is "the ability to perceive, use, understand, manage, and handle emotions."
mind is the textbook definition of NOT being emotionally intelligent LOL fuck that guy /silly,,
he does not perceive them, he does his best not to use them, he does not understand them, he cannot manage them don't let him lie to you, and he cannot handle them either. we knew this though, he basically spells it out every time he has the mic, but he does it from his own twisted point of view.
mind will consistently insist that feeling will make one weak, or inhuman. and honestly this isn't surprising considering the way the actual embodiment of feelings carries himself around him, but it's still a bad point of view to have considering that everyone feels something, even mind. and yes he 100% feels, why else would he always be going at heart any chance he gets? why else would he be so stubborn? if he was truly apathetic he wouldn't be doing jack shit ever which is one of the traits he reprimands heart for, he's just as emotionally driven as him if not more so. the majority of the fandom somehow doesn't see this and it's so infuriating because it's like!!!!!! you fell for the character's façade that's meant to be dismantled by the viewer!!!!!!!!!!! bitch!!!! listen to the album!!!!!!!

he purposefully shoves down his emotions in favor of efficiency, when it's making him worse. as well as that, i'd be willing to bet even if he tried to identify his feelings, he'd all label them as "annoyance" or something. god forbid he ever be angry or sad, what would that make him? no less than a beast, certainly. if he can't be bothered to even listen to heart, do you think he's gonna take a moment to try and understand his emotions? as far as he's concerned, he doesn't even have them. and when all of his childish bottling up starts to backfire, who's to blame? not the one with the cold, neutral and arrogant reputation, of course not. mind is a fucking dumpster fire of a man who can't accept that everyone has feelings dipshit, they came free with your fucking xbox 💥

now it's easy to diagnose mind like this because... well . like ,, look at him. listen to him talk, this might be the most repressed piece of shit i've ever seen, he's so damn angry all the time. but if i walk up to the stage and call heart emotionally unintelligent i'm probably gonna get a lot of questions..,,, so um . answering time ^_^

to reiterate, emotional intelligence is "the ability to perceive, use, understand, manage, and handle emotions." heart is the emotional side. he waxes poetic all the time about how tired and depressed and angry and sad and whatever he is, but here's the thing. have you ever seen the man ... actually manage his emotions? for someone always preaching his importance, he sure does suck at letting himself feel things in a non-destructive way.
he's impulsive and destructive, to himself and to mind. he'll curl himself into a ball and rot away in the corner of his room instead of trying to find a solution to these feelings. he'll have an angry outburst and try to kill a man instead of listening to reason. he feels and by god he feels a lot, but he can't manage or handle his emotions like at all. if he could, we wouldn't have RoE.

part of emotional intelligence is also the ability to pinpoint where these feelings are coming from, and i think you'll find a repeating pattern in where heart thinks this is all coming from. the answer may shock you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................it's mind. to him, it's always mind. to be fair, mind always blames heart as well, but that doesn't help. it's always mind. and that makes him angry. and susceptible to an outburst. and since he doesn't have emotional regulation skills, he loads his gun and aims it. and surprise surprise, that's not healthy!! he bounces between apathy and anger and depression and then tries to make himself out to be the victim in it all, without pausing to try and figure out where these feelings are coming from and how to handle them. he's just as bad as mind. this is not new.

soul's got his own set of problems but i think in this specific facet he's not that bad? like obviously you need disordered thinking patterns to think that killing yourself is the way to make it all stop, but despite it all i think he might be the best and handling these things. he's totally the one who drilled "something must heal lost in thought/something must feel lest they rot" into their heads giggles
